Tommy Schneider

I write songs because I have things I need to say — and forty years into this, I've found I have more to say now than I did when I started.

I picked up flute in grade school, added saxophone in my twenties, and I’ve always been a singer. I came to guitar later in life, mostly so I could record songs myself, the way I hear them in my head. I've played in bar bands in Cincinnati, spent a while doing jazz, and eventually found my way back to writing — as a singer-songwriter, with some Rock and Americana touches.

The songs I write these days go beyond the heartbreak "you done me wrong" songs I wrote in my twenties and thirties, to ones that seek perspective on what it all means, and the opportunity to grow as life moves forward.

I write to make sense of things, and I hope listening does something similar for you.
