Tommy Schneider Songs
My current project is an EP, “Songs for an Imaginary Western.” The first song, Stranger in This Town, the “riding into town song,” dropped on May 10. Song two, Only Passing Through, about the Western archetype of the drifter will be released on August 16. Special thanks to Ruthie Allen Lincoln for adding vocals to Only Passing Through!
My backstory: Songwriting and singing are my main musical interests and passions. I also play or program the instruments on my tracks unless other musicians are credited. A musician throughout my life, I started by playing flute and singing in grade school, adding sax in my early twenties and more recently focusing on guitar to be able to self-record my songs.
I’m based in Cincinnati and played in various bar bands here, most notably the Warsaw Falcons and the Moon Pies, during the nineteen eighties. After that I spent a number of years focusing on jazz. But a renewed interest in songwriting brought me back to creating songs in a style that I consider to be a mix of rock, singer- songwriter and Americana. I wrote songs for the eighties bar bands but am finding it much more interesting to be writing songs forty years later from an entirely different age and perspective. That’s to say, I think I have much more to write about now.
Hoping you enjoy hearing the songs as much as I have writing and recording them! For more info or to be in touch, please see my Instagram, or email me at tommyschneider.songs@gmail.com
